Goranhee's Lateral Thinking Puzzles Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Susang People (수상한사람들, “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use Goranhee's Lateral Thinking Puzzles at cases.susangpeople.com/en (the “Service”). We are a small game team based in the Republic of Korea. This Policy applies to the English version of the Service.

1. Information we collect
You can play without creating an account or signing in, and we never ask for your name, email address, or phone number to play. When you use the Service, we collect and use the following information:

Comments are visible to other players. Please do not include your name, contact details, or other personal information in your questions, solutions, or comments.
2. Information stored only on your device
Your game progress, question history, solved cases, likes, and a record of the comments you posted (so we can label them as yours) are saved in your browser's local storage and are not sent to our servers. If you clear your browser's site data, this information is deleted, and we cannot see or restore it.
3. Cookies and similar technologies
- Analytics cookies: Google Analytics sets cookies (for example, _ga) to measure how the Service is used.
- Advertising cookies: Google and its partners set cookies (for example, from doubleclick.net and googlesyndication.com) to show and measure ads. See Section 5.
- Local storage: the Service uses your browser's local storage to save your game progress.
- You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. The game works without cookies, but if you also block local storage, your progress may not be saved.
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information for money. We share information only in the following cases:
- Service providers that operate parts of the Service for us, listed below. Their own privacy policies also apply.
- Advertising: Google and its partners collect information through advertising cookies, as described in Section 5.
- Legal reasons: when required by law or legal process, or when necessary to protect the rights, safety, or security of our users, us, or others.
- Business transfers: if the Service is merged, acquired, or transferred, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, and this Policy will continue to apply to it.

5. Advertising
The Service shows ads served by Google AdSense.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- This means that third parties may collect information about your online activities over time and across different websites when you use the Service.
- To learn more, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
You can opt out of personalized advertising at any time:
- US states: if you are in a US state with a consumer privacy law, the Service shows a “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link provided through Google's privacy messaging tool. When you opt out there, your choice is sent to Google, which then limits how it uses data for the ads you see.
- Google: turn off personalized ads in Ads Settings (My Ad Center).
- Other participating ad companies: visit www.aboutads.info/choices.
- Your browser: block third-party cookies (Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies; Safari: Settings → Privacy → Prevent cross-site tracking).
If you opt out, you may still see ads, but they will not be personalized based on your browsing. We do not collect sensitive information, such as health information, for advertising.
6. Do Not Track signals
Some browsers send “Do Not Track” (DNT) signals. Because there is no common industry standard for responding to them, the Service does not currently respond to DNT signals. You can still use the choices described in Sections 3 and 5.
7. AI judging
- When you ask a question or submit a solution, the text you typed is sent together with the case content to TypeSafe AI, Inc. (United States). Its AI model, Jev, answers Yes, No, or Irrelevant and checks whether your solution is correct.
- We do not store the text of your questions or solutions on our servers or in our logs. Our logs record only the case number, the verdict, and the processing time.
- TypeSafe states that it does not use customer data to train its models, and we do not use what you type to train AI models either.
- Verdicts are used only to run the game and have no legal or similarly significant effect on you. If a verdict seems wrong, please let us know at hello@susangpeople.com.
8. Your choices and rights
- You can ask us to access, correct, or delete information about you, or to stop using it, by emailing hello@susangpeople.com. We will respond within 10 days.
- Because the Service does not use accounts, most of the information we handle cannot be linked to a specific person. To delete a comment you posted, tell us the case, about when you posted it, and what it said, and we will find and delete it.
- You can delete information stored on your device by clearing your browser's site data.
- You can opt out of analytics and personalized ads as described in Sections 3 and 5.
- You may use an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.
9. Additional information for US residents
Depending on where you live (for example, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, or another state with a consumer privacy law), you may have the right to:
- know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose, and get a copy of it;
- correct inaccurate personal information;
- delete personal information;
- opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information, or its use for “targeted advertising”; and
- not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
We do not sell personal information for money. However, allowing Google and its partners to use advertising cookies for personalized ads may be considered “sharing” or “targeted advertising” under some state laws. You can opt out with the “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link shown on the Service to visitors from those states, or with the other choices in Section 5. We do not collect sensitive personal information as defined by these laws.

To make a request, email hello@susangpeople.com with “Privacy request” in the subject line. We may ask for information needed to verify your request. If we decline your request, you may appeal by replying to our response, and we will respond to your appeal within 45 days.
10. Children's privacy
The Service is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. Some cases deal with crime and death. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, for example through an email, we will delete it. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, please contact us at hello@susangpeople.com. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16.
11. International data transfers
We are based in the Republic of Korea, and our service providers are located in the United States and other countries. Your information is processed in these countries, whose data protection laws may differ from those where you live. We protect it as described in this Policy wherever it is processed.
12. Security
- All communication with the Service is encrypted with HTTPS.
- We collect only the information we need.
- Access to admin consoles and accounts that handle personal information is limited to our team members.
- Secrets such as API keys are kept separate from our code in encrypted environment variables.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.
13. Changes to this Policy
If we change this Policy, we will post the updated version and its effective date on this page before it takes effect. For material changes, we will also show what changed from the previous version.
